1 – Hot sanitary water
A hotel definitely needs cooling to create that comfort every guest is looking for. But it also needs hot sanitary water. Total heat recovery is a great feature a chiller can offer to drastically reduce energy consumptions deriving from hot sanitary water production.
In fact, hotels’ need for comfort cooling throughout the year can be used to produce hot sanitary water as well. That can be possible thanks to the total heat recovery option. Hotels hosting events, for instance, or hotels working with a significant number of business guests using conference rooms and meeting rooms. All those circumstances can require cooling even in the half-seasons and in winter. That allows to use total heat recovery to produce hot sanitary water all year round, clearly making the most of the heat recovery process during the summer, but still benefiting from it during the rest of the year.

2 – Low noise
Low noise is crucial when designing an HVAC system for a hotel. To ensure guests have the best possible experience. For this reason, the lower is the noise produced by the HVAC system, the better for the occupants. In this case, it might be useful to have the possibility to further reduce the default noise threshold by setting time bands.

3 – Building load variation
Hotels’ load typically vary depending on the season or in case of particular events. That has a significant impact on the energy efficiency of the building. So, it is important that the variation in load demand of the building is taken into account. In this case, for a more efficient HVAC system, it might be useful to split the load across multiple units of different sizes and control them as they were a big single unit.

It basically modulates the quantity of water flowing through the system, ensuring that pumps work as efficiently as possible, thus reducing their impact on energy consumptions.
5 – Monitoring units’ operations
Monitoring units’ performance, then, is important to reduce costs and making the whole HVAC system energy efficient. Not only it allows to implement efficiency strategies based on the observation of real data, but in some cases, it allows to have access to tax incentives.
