CHALLENGE & SOLUTIONS

The project aimed at totally renovating the HVAC plants located on floor minus two, revamping Air Handling Units, ducts, all secondary pumps, and pipes. All the needs in the project were: reduced height, high energy efficiency, and following laboratory requirement compliance.

The new AHUs had to provide better energy efficiency, helping reduce energy use and had to be ERP and Eurovent compliant, also being compliant with requirements laboratories have in terms of hygiene, meeting the requirements, thanks to the highest filtration level Daikin can offer, counter flow heat exchanger option ensuring no contamination between the exhaust and fresh air can happen, plus germicidal lamps to further sanitize the air.

The most challenging part of the project was being able to meet airflow, efficiency, and all other technical requirements, while being able to fit Air Handling Units in an underground plant, requiring reduced height – under 180 cm.
