Daikin recently supplied two air-cooled scroll heat pumps from the R-32 Bluevolution range of products, to provide heating and cooling, based on seasonal needs, to a major university in the South of Italy.

CHALLENGE & SOLUTIONS
The project aimed at refurbishing the old HVAC system to make it more energy efficient. To do so, Daikin was asked to provide a solution that could meet both the heating/cooling capacity needs and the energy efficiency targets.
Daikin provided two 500 kW R-32 scroll heat pumps in a back-to-back configuration, so they could be combined to reach the capacity needed.
Besides that, it was important for the end user to get an environmentally sustainable solution. For this reason, the R-32 scroll heat pump by Daikin was the best choice because it can guarantee a low GWP. The scroll R-32 air-to-water heat pumps installed for this project, are well-known for providing the best performance in the market and the lowest combined levels of direct and indirect CO2 emissions. That is possible thanks to the low GWP R-32 refrigerant, but also thanks to the best-in-class efficiency levels offered both in cooling and heating modes.
